I can't believe how fast this week has flown,or for that matter the last weeks! Makes you feel old...and that totally sucks!! Anyway, I made a card for Dean's Aunt Donna, her husband Robert passed away after a long illness. I used papertreyink's quilt stamp set...I wanted it to look like a real quilt, not girly, hanging on a cabin wall, just plain and simple. I wish I had the patience to quilt, I love them! Especially old quilts..they remind me of my Grandma Russell, she never had anything expensive, but still, she had some sweet little quilts that we'd use when we stayed there. We'd bundle up, she'd make what she'd call "hot cake"..she'd whip up cake, throw it in the oven and as soon as it was done, she'd cut it up and serve it, no icing, just awesome cake! She was a simple woman...sweeter than sweet. I really miss her.
The next couple of cards I did for Valentine's Day...they're kinda cute...made them for a verve challenge over on splitcoaststampers...I didn't win any stamps, but it was fun playing along. That just means I'll make Dean buy me some! he rocks!!
and lastly, Dean bought me a deluxe soldering kit from
Simply Swank...awesome!! So, last night he helped me do my first little trinket, and It's so stinkin' cute...I'm using it for a bookmark...the sweet little image is from Crafty Secrets..I trimmed the image to fit my glass and taped and soldered it...yippee..it's cute!
and on the flip side I used a letter "D" and cut some words, come a courtin', out of the sheet music and a piece of the sheet music, I colored it with my sand copic marker to make it look more vintage-ish!!
